The social, economic and political aspects of the Internet of Things deserve a robust and transparent discussion. The decisions about IOT technology and products should not be left solely to the commercial sector. Security and privacy issues loom large both at the personal level and for society at large. We offer the Open IOT Foundation as a venue for discussing these topics and a resource for discovering other dialogues on the socio-economic and political aspects of the Internet of Things.
